Leí por ahí que Elaine es "Heavily influenced by documentarists such as Chris Killip and Martin Parr, Elaine Constantine’s approach self-consciously eschews the irony and the stock-in trade motifs of contemporary ‘cutting edge’ fashion photography. In her images we find none of the early-nineties’ obsession with youthful self-abuse or low-fi ‘realism’ ; nor do we find that post-modern preoccupation with deconstructing conventional framing and composition. Elaine Constantine’s art direction, lighting and intense colours combine to draw us into a super-real world where larger-than-life youths abandon themselves to the pleasures and distractions of the moment."
